Things to see & do
Langcliffe is a good base from which you can access a wide range of activities.
You’ll find tourism leaflets in the cottage, but why not pay a visit to the Tourist Information Centre in Settle Town Hall for further ideas? The friendly staff will be happy to help or suggest things do to make your holiday memorable.
When out in the countryside, particularly if you have a dog, please observe the Country Code. Dogs must be kept on a lead whenever there is livestock nearby, particularly in lambing season. Our hills are beautiful but they are also a working environment — let’s make sure we preserve them for future generations to enjoy.
The Settle-Carlisle railway is always a favourite, whatever the time of year: why not break your journey at the charming Cumbrian town of Appleby, home of the famous summer Horse Fair?
For the more energetic, swimming, golf, horse riding and cycle hire are also available locally. This is excellent walking country; from a gentle stroll to the famous ‘Three Peaks’ you will have no problem finding a route to suit your experience.
Settle, one mile from Langcliffe, has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants & coffee shops as well as a weekly market and delightful Victorian theatre, which hosts events throughout the year.
